Summer of 2022, after graduating from Pensole Lewis College and Carhartt's 5 week masterclass, 3 other students and I were awarded internships at Carhartt, out of 27 classmates. During this summer internship we got to learn the business and design side of the company. I was an outerwear product design intern at Carhartt and had the opportunity to be apart of many projects while working on my intern project. Our Intern project brief was " to design a 5 piece collection for the profession the muralist". These are 2 of the 5 pieces of the muralist collection that I designed. We had the opportunity to present this collection at Carhartt headquarters in front of their merchandise team and global products manager.
During my time as Product design intern, I had the opportunity to continue designing for our workwear consumer the Muralist. Through extensive research on a Muralist job, my team of interns and I designed a collection of 5 garments that would functionally make a muralist life a little bit easier. The Muralist Utility leggings is the garment I worked on for the collection. A lightweight alternative for any outdoor or indoor muralist, these leggings are specialized for a muralist giving her a safe and specific spot to put her paint brushes and rollers.

This design much like the leggings were also apart of my internship project at Carhartt. This was one of the designs that was picked to get sampled out of the collection. My goal for this design was to turn a Carhartt classic into a next gen essential, The Carhartt Muralist Coverall grants the artist free-range of motion around a canvas with Carhartt’s Full swing technology. For working against tough and abrasive surfaces, the coverall also has forearm and knee protection with the abrasive resistance of nylon cordura. A garment that makes a muralist life a little bit easier giving them unique access to their tools and equipment.
